Life Inscripted with Kevin Shook how we, how we doing, how we doing folks. So here we are. Welcome back. I haven't did an episode in a long time. It's Friday night. I just had dinner with my mother at Legends, which is like the best place in Richmond to get a burger, so I just thought I would come up here and drop a podcast. Haven't talked in a while. Probably haven't talked since my trip to Los Angeles.
Speaker 1:I went to VCon 2024, which is Gary Vaynerchuk's conference. He has every year. 2024, which is Gary Vaynerchuk's conference he has every year. And it was good it was. It was nice to get outside of town and be around some major influencers, major entrepreneurs, marketers. There were models, musicians, artists, it and uh.
Speaker 1:I got to hear a lot of great inspirational stories. Um, one that really stuck out was Howie Mandel, when he uh talked about um, never say no. That, uh. The word nothing begins with no and no nothing. Uh, never do nothing. So he said, even if you have a bad experience, you take on a client that's just like horrible to work with. It still provides wisdom. So that experience still gives you some insight, provides wisdom, um, and and sets you on track for the next time. So, uh, it was really cool. And Nick Cannon, he was there um, pretty inspirational, he wears a lot of different hats. Um, I finally got to see Gary V.
Speaker 1:I went for like one day oh, okay, I got out there Friday. Like one day, okay, I got out there Friday. I stayed Friday night. When I got out there, though, my hotel East Central or Central Hotel was right downtown and it was just right across the street from Peacock Theater, which is where VConn was this year. One of the buildings that was the main building. So I got there Friday night. I walked around seeing where all the vendors were, kind of see, like where you enter, everything else. And then Saturday is when I went to listen to Gary Vee everybody it was cool. Um, not a whole lot going on, not like lucas oil was last year.
Speaker 1:Uh, vcon 2023 right here in indiana, uh, lucas oil it was. It was better, it was set up better, um, wasn't as many like checkpoints and everything else. So, um, so I am like anticipating, um the announcement to where vCon 2025 will be. I think it'll be like an every year thing, because I obviously do social media work and digital marketing, multimedia, so it's my thing, right, it's very beneficial for me to go to these because I can bring that back, bring back those skills, bring back the inspiration and then set the world on fire on social media. So I can't wait to see where it is next year. But yeah, it was a good time.
Speaker 1:La was different. I've never been to LA. I literally like, soon as I got to the airport I had a Lyft pick me up to take me to my hotel and I look around and me being me you know, I never really get out of Indiana a whole lot. I'm just like staring at the palm trees and like, oh, these are really cool. But yeah, I got, and I think my favorite part is I got to see Ashley Graham. She is fire. So.
Speaker 1:But they all have great stories and there are stories, like you know, on social media, in the entertainment business, in the entertainment world, all you see is like the glory right. You don't know what they went through to get there, you don't know how they were raised, you don't know if it was generational wealth, if they actually earned it. You just don't know. So it's just really good to kind of go to these and hear everything that has unfolded to get some of these people to where they're at today. So it's very inspirational and you know, you realize, like I have no fucking excuse, like you know some of them have had it a lot harder than I ever have. So I use that, you know, to feel my fire and, uh, it's great. Life Inscripted with Kevin Shook.
