Rethinking Elections: Prioritizing People Over Party

Kevin Shook Episode 13

Is your loyalty to one single political party making you disloyal to America? On this episode of "Life Unscripted with Kevin Shook," with special guest, Jason Falcone, we challenge the conventional wisdom of the two-party system. Join Kevin & Jason as they take a hard look at the recent historical events shaking our political landscape. Through the eyes of a generation deeply embedded in social media, we explore the impact of algorithms on political maturity and perception.

We also pull back the curtain on who really holds the reins in American politics. From corporate America to big pharma, we question the accountability and focus of our elected officials. Is it time for a new wave of leadership, perhaps someone resonating with the digital age like a modern-day JFK? Tune in for an unfiltered discussion that urges us to prioritize the person over the party and re-evaluate the efficacy of our current political system. This episode isn't just a commentary; it's a call to action for a more informed and active electorate.

Life Inscripted with Kevin Shook. I have seen posts and heard people that never talk about this kind of stuff and some people are afraid to because obviously it's. You know it's like a firecracker, no pun intended. American, there it is. There it is From Warm Glow Candle. But people have talked about this that never would and they say, like I don't get involved in politics or whatever, but I watch this because obviously you know this is important to watch and they're like whoa.

Speaker 2:

Of course we're going to like this motherfucker Maybe.

Speaker 1:

Go back up.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, why does everyone hold their breath?

Speaker 1:

Or quit talking and explode. Moment of silence go back up, yeah, why does everyone hold their breath and explode? Yeah, so, uh, last night, interesting, nonetheless, historical, obviously, um, I am, uh, I think, like a lot of people, just like wow what the fuck I mean some people are gonna be like I knew this, like what's the?

Speaker 2:

so okay for one, I don't care what someone is, if they're Democrat, if they're Republican, if they're in the middle. You know we've had a lot of people up here, candidates and politicians that hold current elected positions. I really don't give a shit what you are, and so set that aside. Let's go for the person that is alert and oriented.

Speaker 1:

times four I, I mean I think everybody agrees with that, but it's true it's true, there is a problem of being with a two-party system and this isn't a uh me sitting here trying to say we need to have this set, or whatever. It literally is like if you're being loyal to a team, then you're being disloyal to america you're, I mean basically, yeah, I mean like if you're only going to just sit there and think that way, so and that's both sides.

Speaker 1:

You know, never voted for the party, always vote for the person. And we've got an 18 year old same thing. I'm not influencing her one way or the other yeah, how was that?

Speaker 2:

because that? Because you said you stayed at home and watched it with them.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, well, the 18-year-old and 16-year-old watched it and you know they're just the same thing. It was interesting to watch it from their eyes to see. And they're like you know, dad, we see all this stuff on social media. That's one way or going on for a while through social media, through their eyes, and now the algorithm is switched, and it switched a little bit before that. So you know, I don't know if that's the start of something that was. You know there was a precursor to yesterday. I mean, you can go all kinds of different ways with that I don't know.

Speaker 2:

And your daughters? They were probably more mature than I was because I was putting Snapchat filters on. Yeah, they were a lot more mature than I was at 18, for sure but um, like, let's go, like, let's talk about first, like alert and oriented, who's healthy? Yeah, mine's not healthy?

Speaker 1:

no, and it's. It was. It was tough, I mean just to see. And then you're thinking okay, the biggest question is then who's calling the shots and that's not. Again, that's not. I stand on this. All the shot.

Speaker 2:

Well, I mean corporate America, big farm it's ran a big different, yeah, big different way.

Speaker 1:

Um but it's who's calling the shots. Um, what the hell happened, you know, when you had a week to prepare for that?

Speaker 2:

right for that right and you knew it was coming at you. It's almost like why was it set up that way? They were arguing about their fucking golf games.

Speaker 1:

Well, that yeah, no one cares about that no one that's sitting here. We're electing these guys to do well, I mean, that's the best that we got to put out there. I think everybody can agree with that. And that goes back to this whole thing. Is this two-party system that is like okay, well, you have to go this way for this guy. This is what you're getting out of it. Where is the 41 year old jfk like figure who is active on tiktok, active on x?

Speaker 1:

right that understands how to use an excel file you know where he's at.

Speaker 2:

He's a ceo of many of this company, or ceo of this company or this company, because being president is bullshit, right yeah?

Speaker 1:

which. What does that say about the future?

Speaker 2:

right Right.

Speaker 1:

So I don't know. I think, either way you're looking at, regardless of how this goes, 2028, you're going to have two new candidates. America's still going to be here, Mm-hmm. So you'll have two new candidates, two probably young candidates. A lot's going to happen in four years.

Speaker 2:

I hope, because he couldn't put a sentence together. No, I thought I was dumb. Well, so I did fail english class my senior year in high school and I'm not you know, I mispronounce a lot of things and all this shit. But then I saw that last night I could be the fucking president I could like be. I could be the president I could.

Speaker 1:

I'm might not be able to spell president, I mean, everybody can get stage fright especially, but there's nobody in the audience but not the whole damn time, but you've been in front of a microphone talking policy and doing these things. For what? 50 years or whatever?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you've made a career of this.

Speaker 1:

But what was you know? I mean, they got to that point, they put them out there and the. But what was you know? I mean they got to that point, they put them out there and the product's out there. So I mean, you see it Now when's the next one September, I don't know.

Speaker 2:

but it needs to be pay-per-view, okay for one, because after seeing that shit show everyone's going to want to watch, because it's more entertaining than saturday night live.

Speaker 1:

Well, okay, saturday night live, all right now, how bad are they gonna butcher? Oh, they're gonna eat that, are they? Oh, I don't know. I mean, because if it's the other way around, I think they make it a whole weekend series, but I think I think that they they do hit it, but I don't know how hard they hit it because it was so bad on Biden's part.

Speaker 1:

I mean you've got a long time between now and September. A lot of stuff can happen behind the scenes. There's a lot that it'll be interesting to see, like how much this story gets traction, you know, before there's another distraction out there, cause we're going to throw 4,000 things at you All of a sudden the COVID is back.

Speaker 2:

But they need to make a pay-per-view and then take those proceeds, put them back into high school government and economic class. Okay, Because then in 2028, we might have a couple good candidates. I think we will.

Speaker 1:

I think we will, if we start educating again. It's the. Has the world turned? Life Inscripted with Kevin Shook.
